Principal's Message

Welcome to Oso Grande - Tony Bogle, Principal

I am extremely excited to start off the 2019-20 school year as principal of Oso Grande Elementary School. I look forward to meeting you and continuing the tradition of excellence for which Oso Grande is known.

As a 30 year veteran of CUSD, I have had the opportunity to serve in a variety of teaching and school site leadership positions over the past thirty years. I started as a classroom teacher in San Clemente and Mission Viejo before moving into administration as an elementary assistant principal and an exciting term as a middle school assistant principal. Fourteen years ago, I was appointed as principal of Crown Valley Elementary. For the last 5 years I have been the principal of Ambuehl Elementary in San Juan Capistrano. I believe these years of experience, as well as working alongside some very respected principals such as Jayne Martin, has given me unique insight into working with communities and school staffs for the benefit of all children.

On a personal note, I am proud to be a product of CUSD, having attended RH Dana Elementary, Marco Forster Middle School, Dana Hill High School, and graduating from Capistrano Valley High School.  Both my grown children attended CUSD schools and graduated from San Clemente High School.  My wife is also tied to CUSD having taught for a number of years and currently serving as the principal of Oak Grove Elementary in Aliso Viejo. When I am not at work, I enjoy anything activity involving the ocean: surfing, outrigger paddling, and swimming.

You will soon learn that I am very student centered and truly care for each and every child under my charge. I take learning seriously and I believe that school should be engaging and a happy, safe place. I will do whatever is possible that both the students and adults look forward to coming to school each day. When the adults on campus are positive, valued and enjoy their jobs, everything else flows from there. I look forward to greeting the children each morning and saying good-bye every afternoon; it is critical that the principal be accessible to students, parents, and the community.

I look forward to working with you as partners, supporting your child to achieve at his/her potential and creating happy and lasting memories for years to come.
